One of my most treasured creative collaborations.
Both costumes were designed by me and made in my studio especially for the video.
Noel (director) had reflective material in mind inspired by his friend Marianne Maric’s collection at the time and Natasha had a half half design in mind, so off I went to the drawing board, channelling the work of Martha Graham and came back with these designs.
Filmed during the night in botany bay, Kent, Natasha Khan (Bat for Lashes) gives a raw performance, at one with the elements and the landscape.
The choreography is part of ongoing work she was doing with Jorge Crecis and Katie Lusby to develop a vocabulary of movement.
